A book I could not put down...

I read this book cover to cover yesterday along with my NIV bible. I think this book is extremely well written and explains plainly what a lot of religious people simply CHOOSE not to see. I have also read the other reviews on this page and it's interesting how the reviewers giving it 2 stars admittedly didn't even finish the book. This is prime example of the righteous attitude. At least someone in disagreement, should be tactful when explaining their point. I wrote off the negative views since they seemed to be full of spite as opposed to honest, constructive criticism. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.

I am a biology professor. I double-majored in theology. I have been a fan of Gary's music for years. His book was both intriguing and informative. His well written, heartfelt approach captured me early in the book. This book is extremely encouraging for people who are really struggling with faith-for all the right reasons. His discussion of love and bias as it pertains to human activity is wonderful. Lenaire's list of Bible contradictions is excellent. As a former believer, I too have seen many ex-Christians simply attack Christianity with very little tact or verification of claims. Lenaire provides references and gives good explanation for his thesis. His comments on faith are most interesting; the fact that countless Christians go through life and never really notice that they are actually appealing to the physical to give credibility to their spiritual faith is most interesting. Also, the fact that many believers simply assume that the supernatural exists is examined closely in the book. The section on the Gospel of Q is great. I also enjoyed his comments on morality and government. In all, An Infidel Manifesto is an excellent read. Bravo.

This will crush what you thought you knew.

What can I say about Mr. Lenaire's book other than amazing? I have always known that he is an exceptional guitar player and songwriter, but I had no idea he was such a good author. I was raised a christian and considered myself one for most of my life. However, the last 3 years or so, I have had alot of questions and many red flags have came up while studying the bible. This book seems like it was written right to me. I feel so much better after reading these awesome words. If you like anything by Richard Dawkins or other freethinkers out there, you will want to buy this book. AMAZING!!!
