An Elusive Storm

This thriller has a female president, Anne Hawthorn, and her administration is facing multiple threats. The FBI, CIA, MI6, and others, searching for codes, numbers, and secrets, struggle to find a group of eco-terrorists wreaking havoc from Alaska to Paris. The fanatics are killing indiscriminately as they attack those they perceive as enemies of the Earth. They disregard collateral damage and have a penchant for inflicting pain on law enforcement.

Anne Hawthorn, the US President, is taking heat for the attacks happening on her watch. In the background, like an orchestra building up into its crescendo, North Korea is sending hypersonic missiles over Japan and Hawthorn wants it to stop.

Based on conspiracy theories an assassination attempt is made on her life, a copycat killer misdirects the authorities, and Hawthorn has created an enemy within her ranks.
