Attractive and successful matrimonial attorney, Rachel St. Claire, gets involved with a powerful married man. Rachel throws caution away when she meets handsome, wealthy, and successful businessman Michael Parrish. He is still married but in the process of ending his long-term marriage. Michael tries to peacefully and amiably deal with his aggressive and angry wife while pursuing a romantic relationship with Rachel.
