Emotional

This book will pull at your heart strings. It can be very emotionally intense and leave you feeling raw. True depiction of history in America and how it destroyed and shaped lives.

Enjoyed

"Dear Celestial I am innocent" "Dear Roy I am innocent, too" This book was so thought provoking and beautifully written. You really feel for both Roy and Celestial and see both sides.

Intense!

This story was so thought provoking & engaging. Just when you thought you knew what was going on, the rug was pulled from beneath you. Great read

Excellent book and character development

I was very happily surprized. Fast moving, excellent character development easy read - finished in 3 days - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great for book clubs or discussion boards.

A Great read. This book was finished in two sittings. If I didn’t have to work, I would have finished it in a day. It really shows you a inner look into loyalty, trust and love in relationships. Everyone had their own part in the uprising and downfall of the relationships in this book. Me and my lady read it together and we’ve had many discussions about this work. I highly recommend and will check out more of Tayari Jones works.
