The assumptions made about how the many different kinds of love manifest, and how love's evil sibling provides contempt and the demise of compassion in its place, are purely my own. Any characters named, or the pronouns used are not meant to depict individuals living or dead, or anything but an appreciation for all the dimensions of the heart in our species.

"AM/PM" is Barrett's 15th chapbook, the first 13 being blessedly out of print, and the 14th "Gorgon" available under Amazon.

These poems reflect many facets of intense human feeling. They are anything but indifferent. They also mean to express the alpha and omega-how love arises and is expressed, and how it can be seen in the throes of its demise. They are written to be read aloud.
