This illustrated book shares the fundamentals of the Old Order Amish life at a children's reading level. It is based on what I have learned and observed in Lagrange and Elkhart Counties in northern Indiana--most known for the towns of Shipshewana, Middlebury, and Topeka. I was a tourist in Amish Indiana for many years, honeymooned here in 2007, and moved here with my husband Gary in 2017. Most of our friends here are Amish, so we have had a unique inside look into the Old Order Amish culture. Both of us do bus tours and private tours for visitors to Amish Indiana. After writing two adult-level books about what I've learned here, I decided to take my nineteen years of fifth-grade teaching experience and apply it to a children's book about the Amish. Each pair of pages has a photo on the left side and an explanation of some aspect of Amish life on the right side.
