Amina fled to Tuscany from Egypt to escape the growing prejudice and hostility in her homeland. For generations, the women in her family have passed down the knowledge of medicinal plants and magical arts-good witches, but witches nonetheless. To continue pursuing her passion for herbal remedies, she takes a job on a farm in Maremma, where her path crosses with Vanni's.
