York here does an exemplary job of describing the dynamics underlying the "worship wars" that plague so many churches today. Traditional versus contemporary and contemplative versus celebrative, church members have fought repeatedly over the manner in which they worship a common Lord. The author does not present any easy solutions to the dilemma, but he does offer a breadth of understanding of each position that begins the journey toward reconciliation.
