America's Military Revolution: Strategy and Structure After the Cold War

How will war change now that the world is no longer in two camps? Is the ethnic conflict in Eastern and Central Europe the wave of the future? What changes will technological advances dictate?
General Odom considers how the structure and strategy of the U.S. armed forces must change in the post-Cold War world. He looks at intelligence, logistics, research and development, and space, and he pinpoints the regions and potential conflicts that might justify U.S. intervention.

Clear and Lucid Thought

Forty-five years ago, John F. Kennedy was afraid a clearly unhinged General Curtis LeMay might incite a military coup to overthrow the government and launch a nuclear World War III. Today, it almost seems we need clear and lucid miltary thinkers like General Odom to take control to prevent a clearly unhinged President from the same obvious folly. What General Odom lays out in concise, easily understood terms is a sane global approach to the uncertainties of the future. Obviously, this is another book the current POTUS either failed to read and ideas he failed grasp before taking office.
