America's Crossroads: The Public Record

The day of President Kennedy's assassination, the Dallas Police discovered a rifle on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, they identified the rifle as a German Mauser rifle.

Three days after President Kennedy's assassination a young twenty-year-old named Harry L. Power walked into the Terre Haute House, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He had no luggage, although he did carry a long paper package and according to FBI reports, a Young Communist League Card in his wallet. He registered at the hotel giving a San Antonio, Texas address. Two days later the maid found that he had left behind a 7.65 Argentine German Mauser Rifle, Model 1891.

At the time, there were two very prominent CIA guys who were from Terre Haute. William King Harvey oversaw the Mafia and the anti-Castro Cubans trying to assassinate Castro. Bill Harvey's Cuban agents discovered the missiles going into Cuba. Harvey should have been hailed as a hero, but unfortunately Bill Harvey and Robert Kennedy were not getting along and Harvey's career and position in the CIA suffered greatly as a result. William King Harvey is on the record as saying he, "hating Bobby Kennedy's guts with a purple passion." Some speculate that Bill Harvey was responsible for the assassination of President Kennedy. Was this rifle left in Terre Haute as a calling card from Bill Harvey to Bobbie Kennedy? Or, did Kim Philby, the Soviet spy who Bill Harvey unmasked eleven years earlier, arrange for the rifle to come to Terre Haute to call attention to Bill Harvey, in an effort to make Bill Harvey look guilty?

Our second CIA guy, Ray Cline, was the Deputy Director of Intelligence at the CIA, second only to the Director of the CIA. Ray Cline may have come close to being shot in the Terre Haute House while making a speech to his and William King Harvey's old high school alma mater, Wiley High School, at Wiley's 100 Year Centennial Celebration in the Terre Haute House.

Oswald left us a clue as to who was behind the assassination, this story will reveal the clue.
