Excellent New Book!

American Indian Law, Cases and Commentary (American Casebook Series) This is the first completeley new book in the federal Indian law arena in years. It is well-organized and unlike the other books in the field, it takes into account the dramatic changes in U.S. Supreme Court jurisprudence regarding tribal jurisdiction over the last 20 years. The notes and comments are critical of the Court, but the authors are careful to present both sides of the issues to encourage critical thinking. While designed for basic and advanced law school courses, it could also be used by undergraduates and is a nice resource to have on the shelf as a reference. I am an Indian law practitioner with over 20 year of experience and I teach Indian law from time-to-time. It is nice to see new and old cases presented to be able to see what the authors (who are all leading scholars in the field) think about the state of the law.
