In 2016 as my corporate I.T. career was winding down, I sold, gave away, or threw away almost everything I had, packed two suitcases, and MOVED TO UKRAINE where I lived for five years experiencing real life in this wonderful country. I lived in the most historic section of Kyiv, became friends with some of the best people I've ever met, and had life-changing experiences along the way.

This book is about those eye-opening, life-changing experiences, some good, some bad, while living halfway around the world.

I tell how I was able to so quickly become acquainted with people from a wide range of Ukrainian life, how my life became carefree and rewarding at the same time, and how I faced down a deadly medical condition thanks to the great Ukrainian surgeons who saved my life, and then how I fled the country in 2022 amidst screaming air raid sirens and aerial bombardment!
