This book is the classic coffee table picture book. The pictures in it are incredibly beautiful. That beauty reaches many levels. The quality of the pictures are excellent. The buildings themselves are beautiful themselves. You see an incredibly diverse array of building styles. I never imagined there could be so much difference in styles for a basic function like a church building. The area around the churches in the pictures, the other buildings, the plant life, the terrain all combined to make the pretty pictures. They must have searched for months for these perfect shots that combined it all. Also the pictures tell another story. You can see how churches are as much a part of the American fabric as the flag. You see through the pictures how the Churches were in in the beginning. The churches of America in a way lead us into the future through their buildings. They also have some pictures of the historic churches of America. Martin Luther King's church in Atlanta is in the book. The famous churches at the Air Force & Naval Academies are there. The Parker St. Church where William Lloyd Garrison launched his movement to ban slavery was launched in Boston is pictured. I am sure there are scores of pictures other great churches could be taken too. Everyone will have what they think is the must have church not included in the book. Never the less all will enjoy the book.
