Ambolaja: Into the Light

I was captivated by the silhouette of the strong woman with long hair on the cover of Ambolaja: Into the Light, by Amalie J. Rush Hill. My husband had started the book before me, and I asked if he would read it to me out loud (that way both of us could read the book at the same time). However, it didn't happen. When he wasn't reading it, I would sneak in as many pages as I could. It was hard for me to put down. It wasn't long before my husband surrendered to my reading Ambolaja: Into the Light first, because I had really gotten into it. If you really knew me, you' know that I don't read much fiction. However, I had a hard time putting Ambolaja down. I loved following the main character, Jericha Miller, through her adventures into different worlds. The book has many surprising developments and kept me turning the pages. I loved that Ambolaja turned out different than I expected.

A compelling work of metaphysical science fiction

Ambolaja is a metaphysical love story; a cautionary tale of a possible nightmare future where industrial pollution has run ruinously amok; and a compelling vision of a utopian future in which people live, laugh, love and thrive in harmony with nature, with no need for war or violence. Amalie Hill is a passionate storyteller. Her characters in Ambolaja, including Jericha, Tuli, the Old One and Mishva, seemed to climb off the page and into my heart. Engaging as well as thought-provoking, Ambolaja is more than entertaining; it's a vision of a more peaceful world. For that I say, "thank you!"
