Am I Alone in the World? is a gripping, genre defying novel about a character "I" who might be any of us and is apparently alone in the world. What happened? Nobody is around. Climate chaos, famine, war, and pandemic set the scene for the destruction of humanity and planet Earth. Will either survive or is it too late? As the character proceeds in trying to find out what's going on there is a mysterious mixture of fantastic, paranormal, and hi-tech encounters that are sometimes revealing and other times deceptive. One day in the midst of climbing over the debris and rubble strewn around, "I" stumbles into a partially standing library and discovers some books that are not destroyed. Reading stories and poems (a central part of this narrative) that illuminate imagination in portraying possible worlds becomes a wonder and a challenge for understanding. The ongoing story unfolds from both inside and outside the library.
