(Book #5 in the Alycat Series)

What is happening? Young readers will tag along on Alycat's adventures during her very "cattywampus" Wednesday and learn that a little help from some friends and a good attitude can make your day The themes of the books in the Alycat Series all reflect a reliance on friendships, imagination, and creativity towards problem solving. The character traits of Alycat and her friends inspire and encourage young readers to find their own special gifts. People are talking . . . "When things aren't purr-fect, what do you do to add a paws-itive spin to your day? Kids will fall in love with this topsy-turvy story of Alycat's dreamy day going a bit cattywampus " --Dion Leonard, New York Times bestselling author "Change can be scary and difficult to cope with, but Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday helps readers to understand that positive thinking and the right mindset can help make new or uncertain circumstances feel exciting and fun instead. This entertaining and gentle story illustrates important strategies for coping with change, such as reaching out to friends and thinking creatively." --The Children's Book Review The Alycat Series features five titles: Alycat and the Thursday Dessert Day, Alycat and the Monday Blues, Alycat and the Friendship Friday, Alycat and the Tournament Tuesday, and Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday. Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday

It was fun to once again catch up with Alycat and her friends in Alysson Foti Bourque’s Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday. I love seeing what she was up to now. She learns some very valuable lessons along the way, such as, staying positive and having a great outlook will help you pull through even on a very wacky day. It is one of those books that will books that can be read over and over again. Once again artist, Chiara Civati, shows off her talents by illustrating Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday. The pictures are bright and vibrant that perfectly goes with the scenes and really bring Alycat’s story to life. I think they visually keep the children’s attention and actually seeing how the adventure unfolds for Alycat and her friends. I am giving Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday a very well deserved five plus stars. I would give it one hundred if we could. I recommend it for readers who are between the ages of three and eight. My kids and I look forward to reading the other books from the Alycat series in the near future. This would be a great addition in a public or school library and a fun book for a classroom story time. I am sure other young readers will love it as much as my family did. I received a hard cover copy of Alycat and the Cattywampus Wednesday from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
