Regardless of hiccup, hoopla, or hostilities; this woman I love is always beautiful. She is always beautiful because every time I look her way I can see the better side of me being coaxed to the surface.

Love ain't always pretty.
Sometimes it's petty.
And sometimes it's scared.
Sometimes the bad stuff is all that gets shared.

Falling in it is easy. Building it is hard.
Like knees against rough pavement,
sometimes hearts get scarred.

Sometimes it's brutal.
"Tell me the truth. I won't get mad."
And sometimes you learn love ain't really what you had.

You win some. You lose some.
You learn life is real.
You learn what will and won't work for you.
You learn how to deal.
Seasoning cast iron lets a chef make the best-tasting meal.

Ain't nuthin better than her kisses in the morning. And nothing matches the feeling of knowing she is in my corner. Yet with love, like building the house of your dreams, moving in is just the beginning.

One thing of the many that I love about her, I know exactly what's on her mind. Whether in punishment or in praise, she don't hold back.

She pulls me higher because I believe that the good she sees in me is what I truly am. I am determined to see it as well, and also become it too.
