A Haunting

This poetry comes from a lot of living. Such verses could never spring from a mundane or sequestered existence. There is a daring, almost frightening quality to it. Few of us would venture to reveal ourselves to such an extent and, of those few, only a small fraction would be able to express it so. Certain words and phrases haunt the reader - "grace gathering, winter all the way into the stone, listening for a spirit we might tempt back, to the precipice of madness, the risk of eclipse, the way a very small bird can halt such a large thing as silence, in light of her capricious disapprearing, and its vapor trail of memory, life being hammered into music, like a shadow's imaginary kiss, a poem the mirage of uttered wonder." In this haunting, the experiences of the poet seem to flow through into the reader.
