Great first novel

I really enjoyed this book. Many books that I have read of the revolutionary war center around events elsewhere. I knew of some of the events along the Mohawk river, but this book made the bloody events of the Mohawk come to life. The back story was also engrossing and made me care about the characters and their lives so long ago. It was a very pleasurable read and I hope to see more such books from this author in the future.
