Addictiive, fascinating, and pleasant stories!

I had been searching for a series with the romance and action of twilight. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Almost Human trilogy. The author, Melanie Nowak, spent time developing each character with care. The plot is original and keeps you interested through out the three book series. Each book starts exactly where the last left off. I read all three books in four days and left me wanting more. According to the author, there will be more Almost Human trilogies concentrating on relationships between different characters - YEA! The adult romance is grittier and darker than Twilight but the relationships between lovers warms your heart in more ways than just the obvious one. As in the twilight series, the main characters were well developed so that the reader feels the emotions of each. You will fall in love with Cain, Felicity, and Ben as I have. The Almost Human books are independently published so there are some grammatical errors, but not enough to distract me from this wonderful story!

Almost Human is a Must Read for vampire lovers!

Fatal Infatuation is the first book of the series Almost Human by new author, Melanie Nowak. I was fortunate enough to read this series on a friends Kindle after hearing about it in the forums. Loving all things vampire, I gave it a try and couldn't stop reading until I was finished with the third book!! When I heard it was available in print, I snatched up my own personal copies... In Fatal Infatuation, Nowak tells the story of Cain, a 340 yr old vampire who has come terms with his immortality, but not without a price. In the small college town where he resides, he happens upon Felicity, a welcome breath of fresh air in his life of few rewards. Enter Sindy, a young vampire who is bent on making Cain's life a living hell, but who perhaps has more in common with him than the humans he befriends... Nowak's characters will wrap around your heart and won't let go. If you love vampires, do yourself a favor and give Almost Human a try. You won't be disappointed!

Somewhere between Twilight and Trueblood on the Nice-Naughty spectrum

This is the first in a 3-book story arc. If, like me, you read the Twilight or the Southern Vampires series until the wee hours of the morning because you were so hooked you couldn't tear yourself away, then you will love this series as well. I ordered this as the 3 for 1 set on my Kindle, so the distinction between the 1st, 2nd & 3rd volumes for me is a little blurred and I don't want to post any spoilers here. In this vampire universe, things are a little darker, grittier and with more `adult' romance scenes than Twilight, but less violent and graphic than say Charlaine Harris or Jeanine Frost. Miss Nowak does an excellent job of painting vivid images of college-town Upstate NY gone paranormal.

I couldn't stop reading!

This book became an addiction. So well written, almost as If I were there. I could picture everything, and only wanted to read more. This author is obviously talented. I'm one of those people who aren't easily entertained...this book was wonderful. There was never a dull moment. I'm on to book #2, I know it will be equally as great. Hopefully by the time I'm done reading #3, #4 will be released. Please make a #4! :)

WOW - Coudn't put it down

Wow, is really all I can say. I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait for the continuation!!!. I've tried doing some research on the author and so far haven't been able to come up with anything, so if you (Melanie) are reading this, please, please write another book!
