Images were shot over 6 months of living in Rio, from various locations around the entire state. Tanner's aim with Alma Carioca was not to portray either the good or the bad of Rio's story, rather to give the world a glimpse of the unmistakable magic and emotion of the culture, people, and way of life in Rio.
