Part III of VIII in the series about PI Simon Fintch. After Simon Fintch has celebrated New Year holidays and had some time off, he immediately gets a new case. The murder has taken place in the same house where Simon works and live in. It was Allison's father, Jonas White, who found his daughter murdered in her apartment when he came to visit from South Africa. The police are busy with all the gang wars, that are worse than before. There's now hardly anyone who can fail to notice that there are tougher times among the gangs and the murders are more than usual this time of the year. In the midst of all the gang wars, Simon needs to consider whether the murder of Allison could be gang related. During the investigation, he finds out that a brother of the victim's boyfriend is part of one of the gangs. Even Simon and Bee are hit by the gangs and everyone is equally terrified of what is going on around them. There is no one who is safe anymore, but Simon doesn't give up. He is an experienced homicide detective, and in the end, he manages to solve the complicated case.
