When the economic world begins to collapse a group of the wealthiest and most powerful in their respective fields band together to develop a solution that to the public appears to be a way for all to find prosperity again, but to the Engineers they see a way to profit from the crisis. They build Facilities where the forced occupants are collected due to excessive debt and placed under the Education that to the outside world is a means of repairing a way of living that has led to the devastating downfall, but to those within it is a brainwashing that destroys everything that makes them human. It is the story of Jack, one of the original Kept, who is seen by the Engineers as the poster child of the program, but as tragedy breaks through the years of conditioning he becomes Awaken and joins a small group of rebels who fight in the shadows to take down the system of manipulation and greed. This is a story of love, betrayal, the human spirit, a fight for humanity, and a loss of innocence.
