Dr. Sinclair

After reading Gavin Sinclair's book I began buying it for friends or family diagnosed. Then it grew into a gift to friends and family not yet effected by cancer. He tell a compelling story about his families reaction and living through his sickness. He prepares those diagnosed for what to expect with treatment and it is encouraging to the family as well. Not just the patient goes through treatment, but the family has tough times as well.

A great book by a great man

I had the opportunity to know Gavin Sinclair and he was the nicest man that I ever met. His book covers his struggles with cancer and how he pulled through and beat a terminal diagnosis. The complications that he suffered from the cancer may have taken his life in the end, but his determination to survive added nearly a decade to his life when doctors gave him only months to live. In this time he raised two great children and forever changed my life in a positve way. I often think of him driving his little convertible with the custom plate that contained an abreviated "Think Positive" reading this book will show you to keep thinking positive regardless of your situation. If you or a friend of yours is suffering from cancer I highly advise you to purchase this book, it will bring you hope and comfort.

For anyone facing extreme sadness or tragedy...

This book is not just for families and individuals facing cancer and survival. It's for anyone facing life's "unfairness" and the extreme sadness that comes into our lives at one time or another. While it is predominantly a Christian based methodolgy, it does offer first hand experience with medical personnel and an approach to manage the disease and all the associated afflictions that occur with any severe illness. This book is a heart wretching and heart warming (sometimes even comical) account of real life drama. It details a positive attitude approach that is enhanced by belief in God that offers a healing of the spirit as well as the body. The author's faith along with the faith of his family demonstrates that God is a source of comfort and relief for everyone: the sick, the dying and the survivors.

Humane, concise, humorous encouragement from a REAL person.

This is must-read for anyone who feels "backed into a corner" in their life. Gavin's encouragement and call to confidence apply to all realms of human life, with witty, practical anecdotes and, sometimes, blunt humor and courage. No self-pity here, but rather a call to arms for those who feel they may have been bullied into meek submission by the medical "establishment". In everyday terms, Gavin reaches out to people in pain--physical, mental and emotional--with his story of survival and suggestions for how they, too, may have victory!

uplifting for patients and their families

Great, funny, encouraging! Medical jargon and maze of "stuff" encountered by the patient is made understandable. Extremely valuable for family and friends of cancer patients.
