When a mudslide took the lives of an unknown number of residents of the small village of Carries, Haiti, Linotte Joseph sprung to action to alleviate the pain and suffering of those affected. From that event in 2009 came the Mission of Grace and the roots in transforming the community through Christian belief, respect for the people they serve and determination. Today that mission has an orphanage, an elder's home, a clinic, a school, a young girl's home and other ministries, and is a model of success in Haiti where success is often fleeting or out of one's grasp. The village is now healthier, cleaner and has a positive outlook for the future. Through the highs and lows, the frustrations and disappointments, through deaths and lives made well, Linotte and the Mission of Grace serve the village, the people and the country.
