Cary Keion is a detective who craves the puzzle, all the little pieces falling into place like notes in a melody. When a wealthy heiress dies from a bizarre allergic reaction, Cary is approached by the victim's sister to prove the apparent accident was murder. And that the victim's social climbing husband is the perpetrator.

Intrigued by the idea that a death so clearly the result of a medical accident could be murder, Cary accepts the case and starts to dig. Suddenly, suspects are numerous, bullets are flying and murder becomes the only thing Cary is certain of.
