Elliot Payton and his cousin Dodie Labelle make their debut in the aristocratic London society. While Dodie has plans of grandeur and love, Elliot is much more concerned about a rake who has grown fond of him. There is, of course, the disgraced jewel of last season's debutantes, Noelle Grayson, and her friend Seraphina Adair, who is determined to die a spinster. Last, but not least of all, an unobtainable bachelor -- whose wealth and good looks are beyond compare -- seems to be courting for the first time, and his little sister seems less than thrilled to be wearing women's clothing.
And let us not forget the gossip inflaming all their actions, and the strange writer who goes by the penname The Nightingale.
