This book is the color version of a true, sequential account of my relationships with the dogs who have filled my life with love, joy, laughter, and occasional frustration and grief. From Kim, the stunning, black chow who allowed me to crawl over him when I was a toddler to my current corgi mix, Chico, each dog has had an important place in my life and in my heart. Unlike most books about dogs, however, not every account here ends happily. I hope that readers can experience the varied emotions with me along this journey. I also hope you can forgive my sometimes harsh decisions regarding my dogs when, in times of crisis, my farm girl mentality won the battle with my less practical but more humane side. One of my life goals is to make amends to dogs wherever and whenever I can. They have given me much more than I have given them.
