Shy and quiet Kylen Scotts is afraid of change. And loneliness. And crowds.
But change does happen, and he leaves all his friends behind at his old home because of his mom's new job, which is already kind of a disaster. But lucky for him, it doesn't get much worse- so far, he's made three friends (wow, that's new), one enemy, and half of the pages in his scrapbook. But two of his friends leave for the holidays, and he's stuck with Pixie, the friend he doesn't know so much (and doesn't want to know).

Sunny and down-to-earth Eli Wind is an art kid. His dad works in the Navy, so they move house constantly. Because of this, he has a gazillion friends all over the country but doesn't have a strong bond with anyone, so he's incredibly lonely (even with his little sister around). Reeseworth was probably going to be another one of those come-and-go places, but something about the town had his heart. And so did a house across the street, which he did so want to draw, but it turns out it belongs to someone very special to him...
