Fascinating, useful and insightful

This is exactly what I wanted...insight and scholarship on a local level, tied into insight and scholarship on a broader political scale. He gives, at last,(since so few historians do this at all) a complete picture of events, not cutting off the so important social and local history. Very well written and a starting point for my research. Chris Collier's successful and insightful approach to constitutional history is exactly what I was looking for. The depth and breadth of his approach hold one's attention and allows it all to make sense at last! More historians should so this!
