All I want every year for Christmas

I'm 72 years old and a lover of books. Every Christmas I buy a Child's Christmas book for myself that I love and represents a season I love. This book is as simple as it gets and that is what makes it so wonderful. You and your children will love it.

Little on the outside, big on the inside

Ever wonder what a snake might want for Christmas? What about a giraffe? This book is a tiny treasure. It is the wish list for the animal kingdom. It is easy to read and interactive. The illustrations are cute, simple, and colorful. There are little folds on the pages that reveal each animal's gift. It's like unwrapping a present on every page. By the end of the book, the best gift of all isn't toys, clothes, or new bows, but a great big hug. All I Want For Christmas a perfect stocking stuffer for your little one this Christmas or great cozied up for a bed time story. And remember the best gift of all, is a hug. A captivating book, full of whimsy, grace and humor.

My family and I love this book and its whimsical animal characters. They are quirky, funny, yearning and irrepressible; they are extravagant and wistful dreamers. Deborah Zemke's deft and exuberant drawings capture them with imagination, humor, affection and sympathy. The characters linger in the mind long after one closes the book--whether it's the soulful, ruminative frog who is caught in the cacophony and chorus of family and friends and longs for a pad of his own; or the wan, shivering snake who dreams of a soft, rich, thick, red-and-green body-warmer; or, the spirited skunk who hopes for a Christmas that will bring dash and verve--and a splash of French perfume. All the characters in this book delight and surprise.

Sized at just under six by six, this little book makes the perfect holiday gift. Find out what those crazy animals have on their wish lists for Christmas. The requests are intended to be humorous - that silly kind of humor designed for children. The giraffe requests an extra long necktie, the centipede desperately needs a few hundred pairs of shoes, and the rooster wants an alarm clock. The accompanying illustrations are cute, with the colorful animals standing out against simple white backgrounds. The book also features several small tabs for peeking behind, offering a bit of interaction for the curious type. There is a nice ending that has nothing to do with boxes or bows, but rather the spirit of the season. This would be a good choice if you need one more stocking stuffer, or something for the ubiquitous gift exchange (great for girls and boys alike). Get your kids laughing, and in the mood to write out their extensive wish lists by taking their cues from the animal kingdom!
