Risking Comfort for Truth

All Fours is the kind of novel that gently pushes you out of your comfort zone, not with shock value, but with honesty. I’ve always gravitated toward books that challenge me, stories with characters who make choices that unsettle me or stretch my understanding of what it means to live truthfully. This novel does exactly that. At its core, it’s a story about a woman willing to risk the safety of a comfortable, successful life in order to be fully, authentically herself. That tension, between the predictable world we build and the deeper instincts we often suppress, is what makes the book resonate. It reminds us how tightly we cling to certainty and how rarely we allow ourselves to trust our own inner voice. The writing is sharp, intimate, and deeply observant. All Fours lingers long after the last page, inviting you to consider how much of your own life is lived out of habit, and how much out of truth.

Good writer- sad and not relatable story

Well weitten

I could not put this book down. Something about watching someone else unravel is mesmerizing. The author wrote a common scenario in a new way that had my hooked. I finished this in 3 days.

Not the story I thought it would be

I thought this was going to be the story of a 45 year old dealing in a funny way with growing older. Aside from mentioning menopause a few times this was just an emotional crisis that could happen at any age. I liked the style of writing but I really didn't like the main character. She was obsessive and self centered and let the excuse that she was a creative poet/writer excuse her behavior. I was looking for the 45-55 year old's version of, "Are You There God? It's Me Margaret", but this book wasn't it.
