This was an easy-to-read story of new beginnings in an old house, found family, books and booklovers, and sisterhood.
While this story was fairly predictable, sometimes it’s just the sort of cozy book to read in between more intense novels. I liked the premise of a sixty-one-year-old widow who opens her lovely old home to women needing a place to live. The drama consists of the interaction between the various women and how it is resolved. I appreciated that many of the characters incorporated faith in their lives in a natural way. There’s a bit of romance as well as characters who are dealing with grief and loss.
If you’re looking for an uplifting novel with themes of friendship and faith, this is the book for you.
