Follow the adventures of Dannyboy Davis and Ricky B as they navigate their lives past and present. Skipping back and forth between adolescent years filled with loss, heartbreak, death, and active addiction in the present, the two men attempt to live a life of recovery as beneficial members of society while dealing with the complications of a dangerous and unprecedented virus that's running unchecked throughout the city and country. A fed-up community on the brink of unrest gets violently tipped over the edge after another altercation that leaves a man dead at the hands of police.

Dannyboy and Ricky stick together as their lives and the world around them change drastically. Alive and Unwell takes aim at the high stakes real-life epidemic that is the razor thin line separating active addiction from recovery.
