Good for what’s Alien you.

This is a decent formula, “isolated with an alien” movie. We have all the standard characters from the disaccredited alien hunter Julian Rome, played by a 43-year-old James Spader. There is a possible love interest (not with the extraterrestrials), Janine Eser, played by Kate Brecher. Scantily clad in the corn field, Nyla was played by Leslie Stefanson. A character that freaks out over everything, Dr. Michael Straub, played by John Lynch (we just know he is going to be trouble). And many other standard stereotypes. A research station in Antarctica runs across an anomaly. Naturally, they dig it up in a block of ice and wait for it to melt. No, it is not James Arness, but it is just as good. The government suspects something like Roswell and sends in a top linguistic expert who doubles as a cryptologist, in the event he is needed. We get to discover the secret at the same time they do. Lots of spooky music and lots of sneaking around action. We even have flashlights when they could have easily turned on the overhead lights. They could have played “Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood” Song by The Animals. And you guessed most of what was going to happen. Will we become alien-chow? Will they phone home? Or will the world governments dispatch the research station as a precautionary measure? You will just have to wait and see a fairly unique ending. I can tell you there is something corny about the station.
