The children of our world need us to care for them consistently and with open hearts. Trauma does not always show up in ways adults can easily recognize, nor in ways that children can name or understand. That is why it falls to us to create spaces where our children feel safe and free to speak. Alice's trauma is intentionally left unnamed in this story. We never learn what happened to her because that is not the point. What matters is that her parents love her, believe in her, and stand beside her.Children are remarkably resilient. With the right support surrounding them, they can, and do, thrive.
