Ali, Allo, Alter, the Latin root for "other" is a collection of short stories which delineate the experiences of characters at the crossroads of race, gender, and sexuality. From a drag artist seeking his mother's approval to a pair of sisters living as pariahs in rural 1980s North Carolina; across Hawaii, Shiraz, Acapulco, Budapest, Asheville, Southern India, and San Francisco, we receive the narratives of people from the margins, people defined by their "otherness." This series of six stories sees them honoring the identities they have been taught to hate, in landscapes intent on erasing them.
