Great for writing in

This is a pretty good book. If you have graduated high school you will be able to zoom up to chapter 3. The only down side about this book is that some of the more complicated procedures in chapter 4 are only demonstrated with one example. This is really annoying if you are trying to teach yourself.

for the average and below average student

Good for the high school student [or even a primary school student] encountering algebra for the first time. The text explains the abstractions in the algebraic notation. A vital step up from doing simple arithmetic. Granted, the narrative seems a trifle laboured. And it may also seem so to you, if you already possess an aptitude or interest in maths. But the book is aimed squarely at the average and below average reader. The leisurely and prolonged use of examples is needed for such an audience.

Very Helpful Book

This book is very helpful because when someone helps me in Algebra 2, they can read me the problem out of book then I can work it out and they can tell me whether my answer is right or not or else it would take a much longer period of time because they would have to work out the problem and then tell me the answer and it may be wrong. This is the perfect book for kids who want to learn Algebra 2.
