Reads like a story. Not just a collection of facts.

I have other books on Alfred. However, mostly what I know about H-i-t-c-h-c-o-c-k is from DVD extras. This book, however, is simple on the surface. The thing that I like most is that you do not have to keep looking in the back for footnotes and references, as they are built right on the page in the place you are reading. The author, Michael Wood, is not afraid to mention other authors’ works and quotes. We get a good overview of the many works of Alfred H-i-t-c-h-c-o-c-k. There is depth, but not too much, and you come away feeling that you know all that you want to know about Alfred and his world. Thanks, Michael, for a good time spent reading about the movie Icon.
