Alexander Ramsey's Words of War

On September 9th, 1862, midpoint during the tragic U.S.-Dakota War, Minnesota's Governor, Alexander Ramsey, addressed the Legislature. Although not in his original and handwritten "proclamation," Ramsey called for the extermination or removal of the Dakota Indians from the State.
