Alcohol is a popular product that has served several different applications throughout history. Alcoholic beverages have been used since Stone Age, circa 10,000 B.C. up to the present day, with diverse roles ranging from a source of enjoyment amongst friends to dietary or bartering uses as well as for religious purposes (Hanson, 1995).While human consumption of alcohol continued over several generations it was banned in the U.S. during the 1930s due to prohibition, which made the manufacture and sale of alcohol illegal (Cherrington, 1925). Today, drinking alcohol, in various forms, is a worldwide phenomenon, with the presence of numerous bars and liquor shops all over the world. It is currently a topic of debate whether alcohol serves a therapeutic or medicinal function or is harmful to humans. Several literature publications suggest that moderate consumption of alcohol may increase cognition, exhibit anxiolytic effects, reduce coronary artery-related events such as myocardial infarction, and prevent the onset of both diabetes and dementia
