Review from The Strand Bookstore

From Strand Bookstore This collection of short fiction showcases the talents of traveler and bohemian Jacques Paisner. With a sharp and poignant voice of rebellion and youth, that is aching to seep from every imaginable pore, the stories within "AlbuquerqueBlues" are written from the throngs of the current generation of American subculture. Poised with all of th humor and heartbreak of the modern day twenty-something stylist, this book is an exceptional new exploration into the mind of a writer who we are sure to hear more from in the future.

Laughed and Cried...

Finding the humor and love in the muck of real life is a deficient art form, and Mr. Paisner is a master at it. I read the entire book in one sitting. Having lived in Albuquerque, I could relate with many of the experiences of different characters; but for those who haven't experienced the crazy ways of Northern New Mexico it will be a roller coaster of a read. When will expect another form Jacque, I can't wait!

New Mexican author Jacques Paisner presents Albuquerque Blues, an anthology of short stories about the search for meaning. Disillusioned with the routine of everyday life, protagonist Jack Lavallee embarks on the search from the casinos of Albuquerque to the beaches and jungle of Costa Rica. Love, loss, and the mournful comfort of the blues intertwine in this alternately humorous and wistful collection.
