Getting Al Started... This book is authentic Al, his terrible, grammar and colorful words all unedited. He spent over a year jotting down notes, which triggered more memories. Then he really got into the project and put his notes into years. He bought a small $20 recorder. Keep in mind Al doesn't use a computer, doesn't own a cell phone. He would sit in his car in the drive, have a few beers and tell his stories form his pages of notes. He called his friend Adam who is in the publishing business, before he lost the recordings. The recorder did not have a digital line out, so the audio was recorded to a computer in real time over 12 hours. Then a gal in Cleveland spent 40 hours transcribing the audio, and then many photos had to be scanned and edited. In the transfer a few things went wrong. Like Al's friends name, Dayton SaltWalther became David SaltWalther. The publishing guys in Cleveland thought it was best to leave the little things alone, not cleaning anything up so it was absolutely Al. He did want to mention as he recalled his friends stories, he used his colorful words, trying not to put words in their mouths. ...Well two years later here it is.Also, check out 6 Youtube videos of the great musicians that got Al playing nightly, starting in the early 70s.Find them @RoopBrothers Backyard Parties 1987 & 1991
