AL-ISTIQAAMAH:ADHERING TO THE RIGHT PATH (SHEIKHUL ISLAM AHMAD BIN TAIMIYYAH LIBRARY)

This is one of the greatest works of Sheikhul Islam Ahmad bin Abdul Halim bin Taimiyyah in it he discourses the following topics: 1. He discussed the Sunnah (Prophetic tradition) and innovation (Bid'ah), the difference between them, and the boundaries between good and bad innovations. This topic remains controversial among scholars, with some being lenient and others being strict. 2. He discussed singing, (music, poetry and prose) its permissibility and prohibition, the arguments for and against it, and the evidence presented by each side. 3. He discussed Sufism and their ecstatic (extravagant) utterances, what is in their favour and what is against it. 4. He discussed the questions on rebellion against authority; its permissibility or otherwise. And other very vital issues that seems to be controversial in Islam. All these topics and more are addressed by the Imam in the book, distinguishing truth from falsehood, correct from incorrect, and what is acceptable and what is rejected. It's as if he has provided a definitive statement on these issues, clarifying what has confused scholars before and after him. Among the things the ready of this book will learn are: 1. We learn how to discuss with others using evidence and proof, without resorting to insults, slander, and distortion. 2. Even when he critiques the Sufis - despite his disagreement with them - he doesn't let that prevent him from acknowledging a correct statement made by one of them, even if it's among tens of incorrect statements. He promptly says, 'This is correct. Where is the etiquette and ethics of people who unleash their tongues to attack senior scholars, who have spent years serving Islam and its causes, despite making a mistake in one issue? They set themselves up as judges, dismissing the Jihad of these scholars as mere trash.
