The impetus for beginning this writing stemmed from urgent sense of crisis. The urgent sense of crisis is arising from the need for a new theological paradigm shift as the era approaches 500 years since the Protestant Reformation. In the midst of such urgent awareness, I founded 'AJAB' theology in 2022, marking the 505th anniversary of the Reformation, based on the motto of the Reformation to return to 'Again Jesus' and 'Again Bible. I believe that the theological paradigm shift must occur on two fronts. Firstly, the traditional framework that separates Old Testament studies from New Testament studies must be dismantled, and it should transition into a 'Holistic Theology' centered around 'Jesustics.' The significance of Holistic Theology lies in recognizing that in Old Testament studies, Jesus Christ should be at the center. Without this focus, when studying the Old Testament, the core of Christianity, 'Christocentricity, ' becomes blurred. Secondly, biblical studies should begin with inquiries into specific 'situation in life' (Sitz im Leben). The reason traditional Western theology has become abstract and conceptual is because it departed from the concrete contexts of life. A prime example of this is found in the seminal work The Gospel of John: A Commentary by the prominent biblical scholar R. Bultmann. Therefore, speaking of AJAB theology today aims to emphasize the need for a return to 'Again Jesus' due to the separation of the Old and New Testaments, which has led to a dimming of 'Christocentricity.' It also aims to advocate for a return to 'Again Bible' in biblical interpretation, as theology has strayed from the concrete 'situation in life.
