When one is being chased by one's past, one must not doddle lest his past catch him unawares. Steampunk meets sci-fi and skulduggery in this action adventure of a reluctant sky pirate trying to make an honest man of himself as his past continues to haunt him no matter where he goes. It was not by impulse that Vash Rayburn was on his way to the floating sky city of Nemo Vesta by sneaking aboard the very ship that had come to his homeland of Gibbit Cove for the purpose of insuring every last one of his relatives hang from the highest tree. He had been planning his escape for some time and now was the time to put his carefully worked out scheme into action. He obviously wasn't expecting, nor looking forward to the hanging of his relatives, however he knew that they'd be able to get out of it in some way or another as they have in the past. He often thought that if they weren't professional sky pirates, that they would make most formidable politicians. But while the family was working on their escape plans, Vash stowed away on the would-be executioners' vessel in order to set his into motion. Though presently in a state of destitution, hiding from his family's captors in the very ship that they came in, his ambition was to reach Nemo Vesta, so he set about getting there even if it meant placing himself in danger to do so; he is from a family of pirates you know. Why Nemo Vesta? Nemo Vesta was the most civilized of all the floating cities. On Nemo Vesta, Vash had made lavish, well thought out plans to escape his life of piracy and, in this order, (1) become a famous electronic engineer and inventor, (2) become satisfactorily wealthy from his inventions, (3) marry a girl with fine breeding, and (4) Leave a legacy that the most noble of men would strive for. However he had spent two years working toward arranging the first part of his plan... In these pages, there lies an adventure; one man's journey to run from his past only to meet it head on.
