Good Compilation but it is missing some stuff

Over all for what this book is it is a great summary of 7 different Osprey books. However, while it has a lot of what is in those books one of the big things that didn't make it in to this was the color plates that the Osprey books are know for. I own a few of these books that make up this compilation and there are only a few (about a third) from each book that made it into this compilation. This is a good book and I would recommend it to anybody interested in the subject but if you are purchasing this thinking that you will get everything from the 7 books in this you will be disappointed.

World War II Airborne/Paratroopers

Previously published as Osprey Publishing's Elite 136: World War II Airborne Warfare Tactics; Campaign 24: Arnheim 1944; Campaign 104: D-Day 1944 (2); Campaign 147: Crete 1941; Warrior 26: US Paratrooper 1941-45 and Warrior 38: Fallschirmjäger Very good reference book from that era.

Creating a powerful and different focus which sets it apart

Airborne warfare peaked during World War II and AIRBORNE focuses on the international paratroopers involved in the war on both sides, discussing training, tactics and battle conduct alike and placing its analysis in the overall context of World War II history. As such it's a pick not only for military libraries, but for any in-depth public lending collection considering additions to World War II and aviation history alike, creating a powerful and different focus which sets it apart from more general-interest historical surveys of politics alone.
