A rollicking and unpredictable adventure through the world of spies and double agents, lovers and enemies (often one and same) . It has been said that somewhere in the world you have an exact double.... This description may be from another edition of this product.
All those jokes about "military intelligence" being an oxymoron come to fruition in this hilarious actioner based loosely on a real situation from Hubbard's life. The nation of Colodor, where most of the story takes place, doesn't appear on any map because of a cartographer strike, and has almost no military at all (one character demands "Send the entire Colodor Air Force after them! Yes, both planes!"). The head of ONI wants Tom Smith, the guy who's substituted for Pedrito Miraflores, to be more of a hellraiser than the meek, proper Navy lieutenant that he is, and gets his wish when Pedrito comes on the scene ("Booze! Cigars! Prostitutes! That's my boy!"). Meanwhile Tom is getting shot at by angry government officials and angrier women for Pedrito's misdeeds. It's fun, it's funny, and it'll make a great movie (it's the novelization of a screenplay).
Great Book!

Looking for a book that will be a real thrill ride for the reader? I found the tale was fast moving and always full of excitement around each and every corner. It's a very funny, adventure, spy story of what happens when a Lt. in US Naval Intelligence and a South American revolutionary leader (who look identical) get switched. The parody on the CIA underworld was hilarious and so where some of the situations Smith and Pedrito found themselves in. This book leaves the reader with the thought `What if a case of mistaken identity really happened to me?' and 'Do I have a double on this planet?' The plot is what keeps you reading, making it a great 'What If' novel.

I couldn't put it down! Not only is it really exciting, but it's hilarious as well! I nearly died laughing after the descriptions of the Colondor airforce. I heartily recommend it. It's a fast read.
A case of mistaken identity taken to a new level!

This is a fantastic book. L Ron Hubbard outdid himself again with the idea for the story. One hilarious adventure after another that keeps you turning the pages. The hero is likable and the heroine is admirable in the extreme and the plot! Wow! A definate must read in my opinion.
Action and humor!

I really enjoyed this book! I normally don't like to read "spy" novels, but made an exception because of Hubbard and Anderson. I'm certainly glad that I did. There wasn't all that "intelligence" agency jargon that is the norm for novels like this. I'd definitely recommend this to others.
