YANIRA MARTINEZ, a top negotiating attorney for
an LA law firm, is also a consummate athlete. She plays basketball on the beachy public courts as
often as possible with her law partner, MARK
LOMAN and they are very competitive.

There was no way a female Hispanic woman would grace the halls of the firm as a partner. Mark Loman was upset and frustrated because there was little he could do to promote her advancement. Yanira had considered becoming a sports agent, and now was the opportunity to try to fulfill the dream. This was another field where women were not welcomed nor thought to be as good as men, but Yanira was determined and had the savvy and intestinal fortitude to attack yet another glass ceiling.

Yanira learns of a female goaltender in Canada who has a solid reputation but is unrepresented. Yanira is convinced it is because no one believes a woman can make it as a professional goaltender. Yanira knows if she can sign an up-and-coming female hockey goalie in Canada and is at the beginning of her new career. Her major obstacle is a male agent who becomes convinced the woman can make it as a professional.
