Afternoon Tea with Mary and Marcus Braybrooke

This fascinating biography of Mary and Marcus Braybrooke by granddaughter Helen Hobin throws a new light on the last eighty years and will interest many beyond their circle of friends. Born before World War 2, their stories illustrate life in post-war Britain and the excitement of the sixties and seventies. Mary, a social worker, was a Child Care Officer, pioneered surgery-based social work, and a Kidney Support Officer. Her work on different faiths' view of organ transplants won international recognition. Unusually for a social worker, she was a magistrate. Marcus, a much-loved forward looking vicar, and tirelessly interfaith activist is President of the World Congress of Faiths and a founder of the Faith and Belief Forum. His many books are on world religions and spirituality. Together they have led pilgrimages to the Holy Land and many study tours. Helen Hobin studied English at York University and now works in Natural History film-making.
